Mandisa Thomas, President Of Black Nonbelievers At UC Berkeley Jan 29th 6pm

Mandisa Thomas

This Sunday the Berkeley Atheists and Skeptics Society, which I am a member of, will be hosting Mandisa Thomas here at UC Berkeley in the Valley life science building.  I encourage anyone to come, the event is free, but donations will be graciously accepted.

The atheist community has long been dominated by white men, drawing criticism in recent years from many organizations that feel the Atheist community needs to do much more to be inclusive and live up to the humanist values many of us proclaim so loudly.

This talk will focus on the effects of religion on the black community in the U.S. and may help many of us gain better insight into how we can reach out to African Americans and continue to grow America’s Atheist community.
